Negative emotion is always a direct result of an incorrect base perspective. Negative emotion is created when the brain has believed a lie that created an incorrect base perspective.

I believe the solution is to correct base perspectives, then negative emotion is not created by the brain to begin with.

Doug

I agree that we need heroes with decent values and not the X Factor type heroes that the young worship. They need people to admire for doing worthwhile acts not just that they have had their 15 minutes of fame.

What would also help is a belief in marriage, a move away from living together and divorce. More stable homes with father figures will help. I see too many teenagers damaged by their parents selfish pursuit of their own happiness and disregard for the damage they are doing to their children. teenage boys find it particularly difficult to deal with their mothers new partners and new half sibling.

Thank you for this article and I will be looking into your ideas further as I think this will help me to move on and leave things in the past. I do not have to be what I have been told I am, but can change my map.
